Lena Mahone Scholarship
A scholarship to assist needy and worthy students.
Lena Mahone passed away 2/1/2016. In her will, she left $120,556.91. And requested that Greenville United Methodist Church "establish a fund for awarding scholarships designed to assist needy and worthy students who are either relatives or residents of the Virginia counties of Rockbridge, Augusta or Highland. Or any of the cities within the bounds of said counties) in obtaining a post-secondary education".
The fund was named the Lena Mahone Scholarship Fund.
Multiple scholarships are awarded each spring.
